is FINALLY here!! As a teacher I have looked forward to this break for a long time... but honestly, who doesn't? We have been on the move since my Kindergarten Graduation ended but man we have already had some great times so far this summer!
The first week of my summer break we drove up to Seattle, Washington to find ourselves an apartment! We drove all over the cities surrounding for 3 days and finally picked a place in Newcastle. We love the city and the apartment and the commute won't be too bad for Brandon either. I will post more on our place later when we officially move in, but for now... our trip to California!
We drove down with my family on Sunday to Hesperia- the city I grew up in- to stay at our cousin's home. Then the next day my family and our cousins all drove to San Clemente to camp at the beach for 4 days. After setting up our campsites we headed down in the late afternoon for some time at the beach. It was pretty cold and windy so we didn't stay too long but it was still great to watch Brandon touch the Pacific Ocean for the first time :)
The next day Brandon and I actually skipped out on the beach and took my two youngest siblings to Disneyland with us! It had been far too long since my last trip- 4 years!
**Cutest thing ever right here: the morning that we were getting ready to go to Disneyland Brandon pulled out a necklace that I had from high school. The necklace had 3 of my Disneyland charms on it: Mickey, Pluto and Goofy. As Brandon handed it to me he said "I thought you might want to wear this at Disneyland today" Seriously, so sweet! And I'm amazed that he happened upon it in my messy old room :) The charms fit perfectly on my bracelet and I was so happy to be wearing them that day :)
Since it was Brandon's first time at Disneyland we got him a "1st Visit" pin and one that said "Just Graduated" even though that was over a month ago :)
It was a fairly busy day but we seemed to have really good luck being in the right place at the right time to get on the rides we wanted to go on.
And what's Disneyland without the treats? Too bad I ate all of the popcorn before I could get a picture of it! P.S. I will recreate this chocolate peanut butter graham cracker square one day!

We only stayed to watch a few minutes of the parade but it was very entertaining. We just wanted to beat the crowds to a few of the rides we wanted to squeeze in.
Had to snap a picture of Peter Pan for Brynn :)
I forgot how tired/sore your legs and feet are after a day of Disneyland. But thankfully the following 2 days were spent relaxing at the beach. This time with much warmer weather. Which called for a bike ride down to the pier for some ice cream!
I'll have the cheetah flavored ice cream please :)
Isn't my Nemo bucket adorable??
We LOVE the beach.
And to finish off our trip, Brandon and I went back to Disneyland for one more day of fun!
It's safe to stay that we have started our summer off right! Looking forward to what the rest of the summer has in store!
