New Suit Photoshoot

This boy has been interviewing for full-time positions all over the U.S. this last month. So, naturally, we got him a nice new suit. Such a stud. And I am always looking for a reason to use my camera. So, naturally, we went on a new suit photoshoot. :)

While we do have a big decision ahead of us, I know that no matter where we end up, I will always have my silly boy around :) Luckiest girl in the world.

Back in the swing of things

Well hello. The title of this post is the reason I am finally posting on our blog again. I have been teaching again for over a month now, Brandon is working hard in his classes, and yet we still have time with each other! It's pretty wonderful actually.

This school year is already so different from my last: I go home at a decent hour, I am able to cook dinner multiple nights in a week, I go running, Brandon and I watch t.v. shows together... ok that's the same. :) Fun Fact for Ya: Brandon and I watched all 7 seasons of Gilmore Girls within my first few months of teaching. That was all I ever wanted to do after such long days at school- don't I have a great husband? :)

Our newest favorite thing to do on evenings we get to spend together? Go play with my camera :) Here are some pictures from our latest favorite photography spots:

Ok so I am totally awkward squatting in this one, but I was hesitant to sit on the dirt/sticks below me. Luckily I got over it, because I love this last picture :)

Yes that is a deer behind me- there were so many in this little place! Totally going here again to take more pictures.

Oh and one last thing: I LOVE FALL!!! Will post about my favorite fall things we do soon :)

Our Time in Georgia

This summer is coming to an end... too quickly! I don't have pictures of everything we've done... we've had so many great times! But I will let the pictures do the talking :)

Great times! But we have missed our family and friends and are excited to be back to share in more fun with them :)

Nightmare of a Teacher

This is the classroom I left in Utah.

And lately it's been showing up in my dreams. Multiple times a week. Except in my dreams its the first day of school... and my students are running around... and there are angry parents... and I can't do anything about it! I'm just standing there watching it all happen knowing this chaos is my fault.

I wake up in a panic and I stay pretty anxious during the day... until my husband comes home and tells me "everything is going to be alright". (Why do I believe this so much more when I hear it from him?)

Right now I have to accept that there is nothing I can do about my classroom while I'm here in Georgia.   Right now I need to just go back to my book and enjoy summer while it is still here.

What do you do all day?

I get this question all the time out here, so if you are wondering too let me fill you in!

If you know me pretty well, you know I'm a bit of a busy-body. Always have a project going on or something to do. But now that school is out for the summer, it's the exact same thing haha. Only it's more of what I want to do rather than what I have to do to be ready to teach the next day- and it is wonderful. Here's a little bit about a typical day for me:

I sleep in a lot.
Like more than I ever have in my life. (I still like to say I'm on Utah time)
I read books.
My favorite is reading out on the deck while it's raining outside.

I do Pilates.
I'm a new fan of it.

I watch Phineas and Ferb.
Usually while I get ready for the day.

I pick blueberries and vegetables from the garden and water the plants.
(while the couple that we are staying with is away)

I bake.
These are looking good since we have so many blueberries around!

I make materials for this new school year.
(Anything to make my school year less crazy!)
Want to put this in my classroom:

I make dinner.
I'm trying out lots of new recipes since we got tired of the same 10 meals this last year.

I practice photography.
I have a lot to learn but it is so fun to play with my camera!

I practice guitar!
I can't even describe how much I love doing this!

I watch Psych with my husband.

These are most of the things I do each day- it's been a great and relaxing summer for me! I do spend a lot of time alone, but Brandon and I have also had a lot of great times together and with some friends- will post more about that soon!
